Amanda Woolrich

VERDICT:

An engraving artist as well as a painter and animator, Amanda Woolrich has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Faculty of Visual Arts of the UNAM. In 2019 and 2021 she was a recipient of a fellowship from the National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) for young creators with her animated experimental shorts “Here and There” and “Trasiego”.

Besides participating in Annecy, her animated shorts have been selected by multiple festivals, including FIC Monterrey, Prime the Animation Chitrakayha, MIA – International Audiovisual Market in Rome, Cut Out Fest, LIFE Independent Producers Indie Film Festival, Merced Queer Film Festival.

Her graphic work has been on exhibition at the Alfredo Zalce National Painting and Engraving Biennial, National Museum of the Bank of Mexico, the Stamp Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Pinos, Borda Garden, City Museum and Image Center, among others.  In 2019 she held her first solo exhibition “Miradas al ser” at the San Pablo Cultural Center, Oaxaca, Mexico.
