The second edition of the Audio-Visual Producers Summit (AVPSummit) kicked off in the Italian coastal city of Trieste on July 19 with a strong Euro and U.S. presence. The three-day summit is made up of back-to-back panels focusing on issues that effects the trans-Atlantic media and film industries, as well as a series of spotlights on Netflix, Amazon, Mediaset, and Rai Fiction and Rai Cinema.

“Following the first edition’s success in Matera with the participation of Italian and American film industries,” said Roberto Stabile of the Italian Direzione General Cinema e audiovisiva, “we decided to open up this new edition to France, with MPA, PGA, CNC and Unifrance as partners.”
“We want to assert the Italian film industry’s key role on the international scene and become a bridge between Europe and the U.S. in devising new strategies, assessing market developments, singling out new trends, and influencing them where possible. We would like to do this in sync and harmony with our French and American partners,” he added.

The speakers at these events will include, among others, Rai Cinema CEO Paolo Del Brocco, Rai Fiction Director Maria Pia Ammirati, HBO Senior Vice President Jay Rowe, NBC Universal Senior Vice President Veronica Sullivan, France Télévision’s international series chief Morad Koufane, and CAA Media France’s Benjamin Kramer.

The Film Verdict’s Publisher, Eric Mika will moderate an exclusive Fireside Chat with industry leaders Tarak Ben Ammar and Tony Vinciguerra, Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO.

The Motion Picture Association and the Producers Guild of America have once again partnered for the event, in addition to the French National Center of Cinema (CNC) and Unifrance, which have joined in for the first time.
