Locarno 77 Festival Selection Announced

VERDICT: More than 200 films from around the world, across 11 film sections & including 3 competitions

The official selection of the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival has been announced.

For eight decades, Locarno has been at the forefront of the international festival circuit, premiering films by both established auteurs and rapidly rising talents. Among the main awardees joining the line-up this year in Locarno are Indian star Shah Rukh Khan, filmmaker Jane Campion, producer Stacey Sher, stop-motion director Claude Barras, Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt, actor-director Guillaume Canet, performers Irène Jacob and Mélanie Laurent. Piazza Grande, with it’s 8,000 seats is one of the largest screens in the world. It offers pristine projection, booming sound, all of it outdoors & under the stars.
