VERDICT: Filmed at Belle Rives, Antibes

In this scene, Anne Lockwood (Diane Lane), takes a last glance at the scenic French Riviera before heading to the Cannes Film Festival with her husband, a film producer (Alec Baldwin). Unfortunately, her husband is too absorbed in business matters to appreciate the stunning view.

‘Paris Can Wait’ is a comedy film that was released in 2016. It was written, co-produced, and directed by Eleanor Coppola, marking her debut in the field of narrative filmmaking. Prior to this, she had directed only documentaries and short films. The movie premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and was later acquired for North American distribution rights by Sony Pictures Classics. It hit theaters on May 12, 2017.

Belle Rives is located on Cap D’Antibes’ sun-kissed road, nestled on a cove by the water with the stunning Lerins Islands and the Esterel mountains as a backdrop. In 1929, Boma Estène and his family took over the Villa Saint-Louis from F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, who had converted the estate into a resort for wealthy Americans and wrote ‘Tender is the Night’ there. The property was transformed into The Belles Rives, becoming the first hotel on the water along the Côte d’Azur. In 1930-1931, a new wing and two floors were added.
