The San Sebastian Film Festival to host its third Creative Investors’ Conference

The San Sebastian Film Festival will host its third annual Creative Investors’ Conference on September 24 and 25 as part of ‘Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech’. The gathering will consist of panels and discussions open to festival industry badgeholders, as well as private networking activities.

The conference, organized with CAA Media Finance, will feature top global executives and experts such as Bobby Allen of MUBI, Louis Balsan of Anton Corp., Caroline Benjo of Haut et Court, Sol Bondy of One Two Films, and many others. Topics of discussion will include the current landscape of the US and European film industries, international opportunities for the Spanish market, the Korean film marketplace, new ways of collaboration for producers, and the future of film financing.

Additionally, there will be a fireside talk with veteran UK producer Jeremy Thomas, founder of Recorded Picture Company and its sister company Hanway Films. The conference will run from 10 am to 2 pm on September 24 and September 25 at Tabakalera.

Roeg Sutherland, Sarah Schweitzman, and Nick Ogiony from CAA Media Finance will participate in the conference. They will also moderate some of the talks, along with Wendy Mitchell, a delegate and advisor of the San Sebastian Festival.

Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech is part of ‘Spanish Screenings XXL. An international market for Spanish audiovisual production’, a project enjoying the involvement of the Ministry of Culture through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) and by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and of Civil Service, through ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, the Malaga Festival and the San Sebastian Festival.
The San Sebastian Festival also hosts, as part of ‘Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech’, Zinemaldia Startup Challenge, to be held on September 26.
